Blackcap uses the same shared release model across package formats. Source and compiled packages can be produced for supported deployment targets without splitting the application into separate release histories.
Compiled packages
Deploy a compiled Blackcap package when a more self-contained application runtime is preferred while retaining the same Git and release provenance.
Shared delivery model
Microwave Pie manages reusable releases, deployment-specific packages, licensing, installation, and updates from a shared application source.
Blackcap Updates
Update available automatically. Apply it when you choose.
Package-managed Blackcap installations surface an Update Available notification in the application UI when the shared delivery service approves a newer release. Blackcap does not force the update, download it, or restart on its own. A System Admin chooses when to prepare the package and when to apply the update and restart Blackcap, with the running release verified after restart.
Deployment foundation
One application model across Raspberry Pi and GCP.
Blackcap supports a Raspberry Pi and SQLite path as well as a GCP, Compute Engine, Cloud SQL PostgreSQL, Cloud SQL Auth Proxy, Gunicorn, Nginx, and managed HTTPS path. Supported deployment types can use source or compiled packages and can advance to different Application Releases when implementation needs differ. Centralized database services, provider-aware repositories, organization scoping, idempotent migrations, systemd services, managed schedules, and shared background-job infrastructure keep the deployment models aligned.
