Default hosted connection
When the hosted service is available, the Blackcap Chrome Extension is expected to default to https://blackcap.microwavepie.com while still allowing self-hosted users to change the server URL.
Blackcap Cloud
Hosted Blackcap without managing the server.
Blackcap Cloud is the hosted deployment of the same Blackcap application. It is intended for customers who want recipe management, meal planning, shopping lists, and Chrome Extension connectivity without running their own server.
Display clients still matter
Cloud users can still connect a Raspberry Pi display client for an easier e-ink setup path without needing to manage the full Blackcap server stack.
Account-based access
Cloud deployments are expected to use Blackcap account authentication, organization context, and user-owned API tokens for browser extension access.
Same extension
The Blackcap Chrome Extension can connect to either Blackcap Cloud or a self-hosted Blackcap URL using the same setup model.
