Account & Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your Microwave Pie account, Blackcap account, user profile, and personal data reasonably associated with your account. This page explains how to delete your account from inside Blackcap and how to contact us for help.
How to delete your account in Blackcap
- Sign in to your Blackcap account.
- Open the Account page.
- Go to the Lifecycle section.
- Type delete into the confirmation field.
- Press the account deletion button to submit the deletion request.
Deletion timing and reversal window
Account deletion is normally processed within 24 to 48 hours. This delay gives us a short window to verify the request, complete system cleanup, and allow reversal if you submitted the request by mistake.
During the initial processing window, you may be able to reverse or stop the deletion by contacting us at hello@microwavepie.com. After 24 hours, or after you ask us to speed up deletion, the account is likely to be permanently deleted and may not be recoverable. If that happens, you would need to create a new account to use the service again.
Need deletion processed faster?
To ask us to speed up an account deletion request, email hello@microwavepie.com from the email address associated with your account. Please include the product name, account email, and any third-party sign-in provider you used, such as Microsoft, Google, GitHub, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, or Apple.
If you cannot sign in
If you cannot access your account, you can still request account or data deletion by using the contact form or emailing hello@microwavepie.com. We may ask for information to verify your identity before deleting account information.
What happens after deletion
After your deletion request is processed, we will delete or de-identify personal information reasonably associated with your account or user profile, unless we need to keep certain information for legal, security, fraud-prevention, troubleshooting, accounting, or legitimate business record purposes.
Deletion may remove or affect access to saved settings, recipes, meal plans, login history, connected providers, account preferences, and other account-related content.
Your right to request deletion
Depending on where you live, privacy laws may give you the right to request deletion of personal information we have collected about you. We will review deletion requests and respond as required by applicable law. If we cannot complete all or part of a request, we will explain why when appropriate.
Social sign-in providers
If you used Facebook Login, X, GitHub, LinkedIn, Microsoft, Google, Apple, or another sign-in provider to access a Microwave Pie or Blackcap account, you can also manage that connection through the provider’s own account settings. Removing app access from a provider may stop future sharing from that provider, but it may not automatically delete information already stored in Microwave Pie or Blackcap. To delete your Microwave Pie or Blackcap account data, follow the deletion steps above or contact us for help.
